This first post has been a long time coming, and I'm sorry it took so long. In the wake of this global pandemic I have found time and lost all the excuses that previously kept me from writing. I want to firstly thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart for joining me here. Until recently I was happy to fill my days with appointments and beautiful hair, your hair. I find myself missing the joy and excitement that comes with a full day of one on one time with extraordinary people such as yourself. The Covid-19 shut down has compelled me to find a different kind of balance between work, home and play. I'm sure most of you are also feeling this.
I have been taken aback by the outpouring of hope, kindness and support from all of you. I hope I can return the kindness by offering online and Live support to help you during this time. I encourage you to ask me any hair related questions, and join me for my Happy Hour Hair Parties on Thursdays at 3pm on my @Hairbyhelzer Instagram Live. I'm sharing at home DIY hair crafts and answering Q&A. If you have specific questions regarding your hair cut or color please text or email me. I'm doing facetime haircut help and offering support.
I am encouraging clients to send me hair selfies along with any questions they may have. This gives me a reference point so I can consult more efficiently. I am offering Hair Color and Toner Drop Off Kits to select clients who do not require bleaching. I will create a kit for you including color, gloves, a hair cap and an applicator brush. It will be packaged at my sanitized salon and delivered on your doorstep. You can book this via the website or contact me directly for faster service.
For those of you who do not already know, I am also a dance/fitness coach. I am hosting a 20 minute movement workshop on facebook live @ Rachel Helzer Tuesdays and Saturdays at 2pm. My fitness studio "The BoomBox SF" is hosting my Twerkshop class on Zoom every Friday at 4pm. Last but NOT least, one of my best friends in the world owns Jolene's Bar in San Francisco, and we support this LGBTQIA Safe Haven every Friday and Sunday on Instagram Live. Fridays with @Uhaulsf at 9pm and Sundays with a Booty-Full Brunch at 1pm. I host this burlesque chef show on Sunday alongside the amazing @diewies.
My hope through all of this is to stay connected, to inspire and be inspired. I want to smile and share laughter. I'm looking forward to and hoping for a future when we can go back to "normal". Until that happens all we can do is stay connected and share hope.
My best wishes. Keep safe and stay sane.
Until we meet again, your Hair Stylist,
Rachel Helzer
