Essentials for Your

Updated: Apr 11, 2020

When I adorn myself I am setting an intention for myself, for the day or for an event.

Adornment is magic. Essential oils are a great way to introduce this positivity into your daily routine. Adorn yourself with a dash of Essential Oil and begin to pave the way better health, lasting beauty, and peace of mind.

Essential Oils hold the Energetics of a Plant

Essential Oils, or E.O.'s, are made through a distillation process that extracts highly concentrated volatile oils from a plant. The volatile oils in plants serve as their message systems, carrying pheromones to pollinators, repellents to predators and warning messages to other plants.

Essential Oils have profound healing power. Helichrysum, for example, can prevent bruising and minor burn damage when applied correctly. Just breathing deeply with essential oils is healing. Our sense of smell is strong and bypasses our digestive system, going directly to the limbic lobe in our brains where emotions and memory are processed.

Important Fact

I work with essential oils externally, and in small amounts. The high concentration of volatile oils contained in medicinally distilled Essential Oils is potentially toxic to our sensitive tissue membranes and kidneys. When working with Essential Oils use a carrier agent with a few drops of E.O.

Using an oil carrier for skin and a water or oil carrier in a diffuser for aromatherapy.

Here’s some of my Favorites:

  1. Lavender - Lavandula angustifolia. Lavender is one of the safest and most widely used oils. Studies show that Lavender destroys a wide range of infections including staphylococcus, pneumonia and many flu viruses. Lavenders scent is known to "comfort the brain" and it "raises the spirits" often used in smelling salts and eye pillows.

  2. Peppermint - Mentha piperita. Inhaling peppermint steam clears sinus and lung congestion and infection. Alleviates nausea and headaches. Peppermint tea and oil is used to treat IBS.

  3. Rose - Rosa damascena. A cell rejuvinator, Rose can be used on all hair and skin types. Used to treat varicose veins, soothes and heals burns and rashes. A strong antiseptic on bacterial and viral skin infections.

  4. Lemon - Citrus limon. Lemon is a well known antioxidant, it is also a great preservative and antiseptic that helps counter viral and becerial infections. Lemon is used in beauty to lighten, tighten and dry. It is good for skin impurities but should be used at night because it causes photosensitivity. The scent stimulates and helps rid the mind of feeling of impurity and indecisiveness.

  5. Ylang ylang - Cananga odorata. Ylang-Ylang means "flower of flowers" native of the Philippines. This flower is an anti-spasmodic, helps lower blood preasure and its seductive sent will chase all your cares away.
